The Grand Strand

The Myrtle Beach area, also known as South Carolina’s Grand Strand, is a 60-mile stretch of coastline which begins at the South Carolina state line in Little River, Horry County, and stretches through Pawleys Island, Georgetown County.

Considered one of the nation’s top vacation destinations, the Grand Strand hosts approximately 13 million visitors annually. In addition to a steady growth in visitors each year, the Grand Strand has seen steady growth in permanent population in the past several decades.

In addition to miles of sand and surf, the Myrtle Beach area has many other entertainment options including amusement parks, water parks, golf courses, music and theatre venues, fine dining and shopping. The renowned Brookgreen Gardens, the world’s larget outdoor sculpture garden, showcases the works of nearly 250 American sculptors.
